DANZAS MERGES SWEDISH AFFILIATED COMPANIES
Danzas said that it has acquired the 50-percent shareholding it did not already have in Universal Air Express AB, based in Sweden, and plans to merge the company with another Swedish affiliated company, Danzas AEI Intercontinental AB.
Since the acquisition of AEI in 1999, Danzas has held a 50-percent ownership in Universal Air. On Jan. 2, the big logistics group signed a purchase agreement with the owners of the remaining 50-percent of Universal Air. The agreement is subject to Swedish competition authority clearance.
Ragnar Wilton, presently heading Universal Air, will lead the new Swedish Danzas AEI Intercontinental Business Unit.
“The merger marks another step in Danzas’ strategy to further strengthen its position on the Scandinavian logistics market,” a spokesman for Danzas said.
