Massachusetts Port Authority hires new deputy port director of business development; and Simplified Logistics hires chief financial officer and executive vice president of strategy, and executive vice president of sales.
The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) has hired Lauren Gleason to serve as the new deputy port director of business development. Before joining Massport, Gleason worked at Wayfair, building the foundation and groundwork for the company’s international supply chain program. Gleason began her career in supply chain and transportation at Hanjin Shipping. She spent over five years as the New England sales manager for Hanjin, and was responsible for all sales, strategic initiatives, and operations for New England and Canada-based importers and exporters. Her tenure included increasing Hanjin’s footprint and market share in the Northeast, and facilitating peak season planning meetings on behalf of Hanjin’s customers across Asia.
Westlake, Ohio-based Simplified Logistics, a third-party logistics provider with a focus on less-than-truckload transportation management services, has hired Sheila Taylor to serve as chief financial officer and executive vice president of strategy. Taylor was previously vice president of logistics for Sam’s Club. She has also served as chief financial officer at YRC Worldwide, Menlo Logistics and CEVA Logistics
Simplified Logistics has also hired John Centers to serve as executive vice president of sales. Centers has more than 21 years of experience in the transportation and logistics industry, including senior sales management roles at Pilot Flying J and Hub Group.
