Air Canada establishes freighter service agreement with Cargojet Airways

Under the agreement, Air Canada Cargo will launch dedicated freighter services from Canada to Latin America and Europe with Cargojet-operated 767-300ER freighter aircraft.

   Air Canada and Cargojet Inc.’s subsidiary line Cargojet Airways Ltd. are finalizing a commercial agreement in which Air Canada Cargo will launch dedicated freighter services from Canada to Latin America and Europe with Cargojet-operated 767-300ER freighter aircraft.
   Air Canada Cargo will then become the only provider to offer direct, scheduled freighter service between Canada and Latin America, the companies said.
   The new Air Canada Cargo flights, which will provide 52 metric tons of net cargo capacity, are scheduled to commence June 9, subject to obtaining necessary regulatory approvals.
   Initial routes will include service from Toronto to Bogota, Colombia and Lima, Peru via Atlanta, Ga.; and Toronto to Mexico City via Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas.
   Under the agreement, Air Canada Cargo also plans on launching dedicated freighter service from Toronto to Europe in the second half of 2016.
