Matson to christen third new containership in Philadelphia yard
Matson Navigation Co. will christen a new U.S.-flag containership at the Kvaerner Philadelphia Shipyard May 21.
The “Manulani” is the third of a four-vessel order for Oakland, Calif.-based Matson. The final ship is expected to be delivered in the second quarter of 2006. Both new containerships are expected to play a major role in Matson’s planned weekly U.S. West Coast/Hawaii/Guam/China service.
