New crane delivered to Marseilles-Fos
The port of Marseilles-Fos has taken delivery of a new 4.8-million-euro ($6.1-million) ship-to-shore gantry container crane for the Mourepiane container terminal in the port’s eastern harbor area.
The 60-meter-tall crane, manufactured by Fantuzzi Reggiane, arrived by barge from Trieste, Italy. It is due to enter service in late April following commissioning trials. The crane can handle Panamax-size containerships. An older-generation crane will then be withdrawn from operation, leaving the terminal with six quay gantries.
