CN establishes freight forwarding company
Canadian National Railway Co. said Monday it will establish a wholly owned subsidiary offering international freight forwarding services between Europe and North America later this month.
CN WorldWide will be based in Rotterdam and will schedule and manage door-to-door international shipments, including rail, trucking, maritime transportation and port handling, along with warehousing, customs and billing. Initially, the company will focus on shipments between Europe and Eastern Canada, including Ontario and Quebec, via the port of Halifax, and later the United States, CN said.
Anita Ernesaks, a former CN vice-president of eBusiness, has been appointed managing director of CN WorldWide.
