AIRBORNE EXPRESS TO RAISE RATES, ADD FEES

   Airborne Express will begin to phase in a general rate increase on domestic shipping products as of Jan. 2.

   Rates for Overnight Express, 10:30 Urgent A.M., Next-Afternoon, Second Day Service, and International Express will increase by an average of 4 percent. Ground Delivery Service and airborne@home rates will increase by 3.5 percent. The increases will apply only to those customers not under rate guarantee contracts.

   The company will also a $1.25 fee for residential delivery and a $1.50 area surcharge fee to its air express services.
