CELARIX BUYS MANAGEMENT DYNAMICS
Celarix, Inc., an online logistics exchange based in Boston, said on Tuesday that it had agreed to acquire Management Dynamics Inc., a company in East Rutherford, N.J., that provides tariff and contract management software to ocean carriers such as Maersk Sealand, Hamburg Sud, and Evergreen.
Celarix will operate Management Dynamics as a wholly owned subsidiary, retaining all employees, Celarix’s CEO Evan Schumacher said.
John Preuninger, president of MDI, will join Celarix as a vice president, reporting to Schumacher.
Founded in 1998, Celarix has raised $59 million in funding from backers that include Chase H&Q, Technology Crossover Ventures, and Integral Capital Partners.
Management Dynamics, started in 1984, began serving ocean carriers in the early 1990s.
