Crowley’s first ever Russian-flag ship to serve oil industry
Crowley Maritime Corp.’s Russian subsidiary Crowley Far East Services has started deployment of the vessel “Crowley Alliance” serving the oil industry near Sakhalin Island.
The vessel is Crowley’s first ever Russian-flagged and crewed ship.
Last year, Crowley signed a contract with Exxon Neftegas Ltd. to provide an ice-strengthened anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) for the 80,000 metric ton offshore production and drilling platform ORLAN.
“The ‘Alliance’ can provide ocean towing, anchor handling, and general supply duties for ENL’s offshore projects and will help extend their operating season due to its capability to contend with early winter and late spring ice,” Crowley said.
