Exel starts RFID project with House of Fraser
Exel, a U.K.-based provider of logistics services, has begun a radio frequency identification (RFID) trial project with House of Fraser, a large department store group in the United Kingdom.
The program will test the application of RFID across international supply chains. RFID tags will be attached directly to garments from House of Fraser’s brand manufacturers in China.
As containers arrive at House of Fraser’s distribution center in Milton Keynes, which Exel has managed since July of 2003, the importer will determine the amount of money saved through automated receiving and inventory counting.
