RYDER PICKS VIEWLOCITY FOR REAL-TIME LINKAGE
Ryder System, Inc., a transportation and logistics facilitator based in Miami, has selected Viewlocity, a provider of software to integrate e-business networks, to provide real-time messaging for Ryder’s “e-Channel Solutions” (eCS) client services.
According to a statement from Ryder, Viewlocity’s AMTrix software will link Ryder’s eCS facilities in Alliance, Tex., Cucamonga, Calif., and Odenton, Md. with a national network of depots managing backend fulfillment, from taking orders to the “last mile” of delivery.
Gene Tyndall, Ryder’s executive vice president, global markets and e-commerce, said that Ryder had picked Viewlocity after seeing “several live installations” of the software. Viewlocity is based in Atlanta.
