CP Ships carriers switch Japanese ports on Asia/Canada loop
CP Ships carriers Canada Maritime and Lykes Lines are replacing calls at Tokyo with Yokohama on one of their joint weekly Asia/Canada service.
The vessel “CanMar Promise” will make the maiden call at Yokohama April 4, while “Lykes Voyager” will make the last call at Tokyo March 26. However, the carriers will operate dedicated feeders between Yokohama and Tokyo, and Kobe and Nagoya, thereby retaining service to and from Tokyo.
Lykes markets the transpacific service as the “Pacific Sprint Loop 3,” while Canada Maritime calls it “Pacific Gateway Route 1.”
The service uses five ships averaging 2,074 TEUs and has a revised port rotation of Vancouver, B.C.; Yokohama; Qingdao; Hong Kong; Yantian; and back to Vancouver. Maersk Sealand takes space on the service.
Details of the revised service are available now on ComPair Data, the global liner-shipping database, at http://www.compairdata.com.
