GEORGIA PORTS AUTHORITY CONTINUES ON RECORD TEU PACE

   The Georgia Ports Authority said it moved 1.13 million TEUs move through the port of Savannah during the first nine months of its fiscal year, a 33.2-percent increase over the year-earlier period.

   Through March 31, the authority's port of Brunswick handled 237,106 auto and machinery units, a 30.6 increase.

   Doug Marchand, executive director the port authority, said breakbulk business at Savannah’s Ocean Terminal increased 64 percent in March. “Our largest gains were linerboard, machinery, plywood, rubber and steel,” he said.
