Executive Moves: ITSTL, SSA, USDA and USTR

ITSTL appoints CEO and SSA elects new president, while the USDA and USTR name policy and technical advisory committee members.

   ITS Technologies & Logistics (ITSTL) has appointed Steven L. Rubin as chief executive officer. Rubin will be based at ITSTL’s Tinley Park, Ill. headquarters. He most recently served as CEO of Horizon Lines until its sale to Matson Navigation. Rubin has also held senior leadership positions at TRAC Intermodal and “K” Line. ITSTL is a Carlyle Infrastructure Partners company, a fund sponsored by The Carlyle Group, and Mi-Jack Products.

   Esben Poulsson has been appointed president of the Singapore Shipping Association (SSA) after the newly elected SSA Council (2015/2017) was voted into place at the Association’s annual general meeting on June 30. The new council elected him as successor to the outgoing SSA President Patrick Phoon.

   The U.S. Department of Agriculture and Office of the U.S. Trade Representative have appointed 129 private-sector members to the Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee (APAC) and six Agricultural Technical Advisory Committees (ATACs).
   APAC provides advice and information to the agriculture secretary and the U.S. trade representative on the administration of trade policy, including enforcement of existing trade agreements and negotiating objectives for new trade agreements. The ATACs – which include the committees for trade in Animals and Animal Products; Fruits and Vegetables; Grains, Feed, Oilseeds and Planting Seeds; Processed Foods; Sweeteners and Sweetener Products; and Tobacco, Cotton and Peanuts – offer technical advice and information about specific commodities and products.
