COAST GUARD TO HOLD NAVIGATION SAFETY MEETING

   The U.S. Coast Guard’s Navigation Safety Advisory Council will hold a meeting in San Diego, Calif., on Dec. 10-11.

   The meeting will cover a maritime security briefing, update on the Marine Transportation System Initiative, presentation on the International Safety Management Code, status report on ballast water issues, acceleration of the Automatic Identification System implementation, presentation on the Pacific States/British Columbia Oil Spill Task Force’s Offshore Vessel Traffic Risk Management Project, and planning for 2002.
