MENZIES COMPLETES PURCHASE OF FR8 IN AMSTERDAM
Menzies Aviation Group, the aviation division of John Menzies plc, has completed its acquisition of Fr8, a independent cargo operation at the Amsterdam airport.
Beheersmaatschappij Lubbers BV sold Fr8 to Menzies for 16.7 million euros ($16.3 million). Menzies had considered leasing Fr8’s cargo handling system, but then decided to purchase the company.
The acquisition links “one of Europe’s key air-freight hubs with our existing cargo handling, road feeder services and forwarding operations in the U.K.,” said Peter Smith, chief executive of Menzies Aviation Group.
