FRITZ, CAPSTAN TO OFFER ONLINE LOGISTICS SERVICES
Fritz Cos., the San Francisco-based forwarder and logistics provider, plans to announce this week that it has teamed up with Capstan Systems Inc., a developer of online marketplaces, to offer Capstan users international third-party logistics services.
Fritz will become an anchor partner of Capstan’s Internet-based global supply chain execution platform. Capstan is marketing its services directly to shippers and also to business-to-business online marketplaces. The company recently signed an agreement with i2 Technologies to integrate its software into the FreightMatrix logistics marketplace.
The Capstan system is designed to give shippers and their trading partners one-site access to shipping and trade information and services, including document generation and transmittal, shipment notification and tracking. Aside from its deal with i2, Capstan has signed up several shippers, including apparel company Esprit de Corp.
