Port of Houston says Bayport project still on schedule
The Port of Houston Authority Tuesday issued a statement saying its plan to build the Bayport container and cruise terminal is not affected by a decision Monday to reject all proposals for the construction of the container yard at the new terminal.
“The commissioners determined that obtaining new competitive sealed proposals for this project would provide the best value for the Port of Houston Authority, and authorized re-advertisement,” the port said.
The decision does not affect the overall construction schedule of the facility. The container wharf contract is still scheduled to be awarded in February or March, the Texan port stressed.
