CP SHIPS TO JOIN INTTRA PORTAL
CP Ships and its subsidiary companies are expected to join the container-shipping portal INTTRA.
The U.K.-based container-shipping group has filed an agreement with the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission to say that it would become a non-shareholder party to the Common Ocean Carrier Platform Agreement, an agreement among INTTRA carriers.
INTTRA would not comment on the participation of CP Ships in its portal.
CP Ships is the parent company of ANZDL, Canada Maritime, Cast, Contship Containerlines, Lykes Lines and TMM Lines, and is in the process of completing the takeover of Italia.
When confirmed, the CP Ships carriers will increase the number of shipping lines that, like NYK Line, have decided to join several multi-carrier container shipping portals.
CP Ships was one of the founding members of the GT Nexus portal.
The members of INTTRA are: CMA CGM (and subsidiary ANL), Deutsche Afrika Linien, Hamburg Sud (and subsidiaries Alianca, Columbus and Crowley American Transport), Hapag-Lloyd, Kuehne & Nagel, Maersk Sealand, Mediterranean Shipping Co., NYK, P&O Nedlloyd, Safmarine Container Lines and United Arab Shipping Co.
