APL ADDS AUSTRALIA/NORTH ASIA DIRECT LINK
APL is introducing a direct container service linking Eastern Australia with Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
The weekly service is being provided under a slot charter agreement on the Australia-North Asia service run by a consortium of “K” Line, MOL, NYK and P&O Swire.
For APL, the new service complements the carrier’s existing Asia Australia Express to and from Singapore, and its Wallaby Express service which links Australia’s west coast with Asia.
APL will also use the service for transshipment traffic between North America and Australia.
