CHINA SHIPPING ADDS CAPACITY AND PORTS TO ASIA/EUROPE SERVICE
China Shipping Container Lines is increasing vessel capacity and adding direct calls at Genoa in Italy and Khor Fakkan in the United Arab Emirates to its weekly Asia/Europe/Mediterranean service. Eastbound calls at Valencia are being dropped.
The vessel “Xin Pudong” starts the new rotation, when it departs from Shanghai on Feb. 21, making the first calls at Genoa on March 14, and Khor Fakkan on April 10.
The revised service will use nine ships averaging 5,055 TEUs. According to ComPairData, the global liner shipping database, the service previously used nine ships averaging 3,739 TEUs. The increase in capacity represents an additional 68,000 TEUs in annual one-way capacity.
The revised port rotation is Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Chiwan, Hong Kong, Port Kelang, Genoa, Valencia, Felixstowe, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Genoa, Khor Fakkan, Port Kelang, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen and Chiwan.
CMA CGM and Zim Israel Navigation Co. take space on the service.
