Hamburg Sud alters U.S./East Coast South America loop
Hamburg Sud and Alianca are dropping calls at Baltimore and Charleston on their joint weekly U.S. East Coast/East Coast South America service.
The vessel “Cap San Rafael” will start the revised configuration when it departs New York March 4. The service will use six 3,800 TEU vessels, each with 800 reefer plugs, and call New York, Philadelphia, Norfolk, Jacksonville, Miami, Puerto Cabello, Suape, Santos, Buenos Aires, Rio Grande, Santos, Sepetiba, Suape, Pecem and back to New York.
Evergreen takes space on the service.
At the same time, Maersk Sealand is leaving the Hamburg Sud/Alianca service to start its own U.S. East Coast/East Coast South America link, calling New York, Philadelphia, Norfolk, Charleston, Miami, Puerto Cabello, Santos, Montevideo, Rio Grande, Itajai, Santos, Sepetiba, Salvador, Pecem and back to New York.
