AMERICANA SHIPS, CTE START MEDITERRANEAN LINK

   TMM Lines and Lykes Lines, two shipping lines managed by Americana Ships, will commence three joint container services with Spain’s Compania Trasatlantic Espanola to connect ports in the eastern and western Mediterranean and the Canary Islands.

   The services will start in mid-March, at the same time as Lykes and TMM are scheduled to upgrade their U.S. Gulf/Mexico/Mediterranean service to weekly, from the current nine-day frequency. The services will employ six ships of 500 to 1,000 TEUs, operated on three loops:

   * Loop 1: Valencia, Barcelona, La Spezia, Piraeus, Thessaloniki, Istanbul, Gemlik, Izmir and Valencia;

   * Loop 2: Valencia, Barcelona, La Spezia, Alexandria, Haifa, Mersin and Valencia;

   * Loop 3: Valencia, Barcelona, La Spezia, Barcelona, Valencia, Cadiz, Las Palmas, Tenerife, Cadiz and Valencia.
