London-based MacAndrews, owned by CMA CGM, is joining the weekly U.S./Indian subcontinent “Indamex” consortium as a ship operator.

The “Indamex” service uses seven ships averaging 3,250 TEUs and has a port rotation of New York, Norfolk, Charleston, Port Said, Colombo,

Tuticorin, Nhava Sheva and back to New York.

APL, CMA CGM, Contship Containerlines, Hapag-Lloyd, Lykes Lines and Shipping Corp. of India all take part in the service.

MacAndrews will load its first westbound containers at Nhava Sheva on Aug. 8. The first eastbound containers will load in New York at the end of August.

MacAndrews was bought by CMA CGM last year and has gradually expanded from its traditional intra-European trades by joining the Europe/Indian subcontinent “EPIC” service.
