Private equity Wind Point Partners has taken over Kentucky-based A&R Logistics, which plans to continue building resins handling facilities in Charleston and Savannah.
A&R Logistics of Louisville, Ky., has been acquired by Chicago-based private equity Wind Point Partners.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
A&R is a specialist in the bulk transport of chemicals and plastics. It operates a national infrastructure of about 50 facilities and the industry’s largest fleet of specialized tractors and pneumatic trailers.
Wind Point will partner with A&R management, led by President and CEO Mark Holden, who joined the company in 2012. Prior to joining A&R, Holden was president and CEO of Prime Distribution Services.
A&R still plans to build new facilities totaling at least 2 million square feet in the ports of Charleston and Savannah to support the packaging and export of numerous resins including polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride and polypropylene.
