David Chiang appointed as bunker risk manager, Matthew Garner hired as assistant vice president of ship design and Eric Sabo named head of business development.

Glander International Bunkering has announced the hiring of David Chiang as bunker risk manager to handle the increased demand for risk management products and services ahead of IMO 2020.
Based in the Singapore office, Chiang (pictured above) brings 16 years of experience in the bunkering industry.
“With David’s expert knowledge and experience in the derivative markets, we will be able to offer tailored forward pricing solutions to our valued clients. This may help them position themselves favorably in the market and eliminate risky uncertainties on their future fuel costs,” said Carsten Ladekjær, CEO of Glander International Bunkering.

Matthew Garner has joined naval architecture and marine engineering firm Gibbs & Cox Inc. as assistant vice president of ship design.
Garner joins the Arlington, Va.-headquartered firm following civil service with the Naval Sea Systems (NAVSEA) Command’s Engineering Directorate. For the past six years, he was a member of the senior executive service providing technical leadership and operationally superior war-fighting capabilities for the U.S. Navy, most recently as the director for submarine/submersible design and systems engineering and prior to that as the director of the ship integrity and performance engineering group (NAVSEA 05P).
“Matt brings to Gibbs & Cox an unprecedented breadth of engineering prowess across the U.S. Navy’s submarine and surface combatant portfolios. In Gibbs & Cox’s 90th year, Matt’s contributions will position Gibbs & Cox well for our next 90 years.”

Boxzooka Fulfillment & Global Ecommerce has hired Eric Sabo as the head of business development and partnerships.
Sabo will be based at Boxzooka’s headquarters in the New York City metropolitan area and will manage partnerships with technology providers and lead the company’s strategic growth efforts.
Boxzooka operates facilities in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, while also servicing clients around the country via a 3PL partner network linked to its proprietary WMS technology, offering third-party logistics services to e-commerce retailers.
Sabo has more than 13 years of experience in e-commerce operations, including work in customer service, in-house fulfillment, 3PL warehouse management, brand development and consulting for such companies as Tommy Hilfiger, Theory and Puma.
