C.H. Robinson acquires European trucking specialist

Purchase of Pescara, Italy-based Dema Services marks the second European-focused acquisition made by C.H. Robinson this year.

   C.H. Robinson said it has acquired Pescara, Italy-based Dema Services S.p.A. to strengthen its European road transport service offering.
   Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
   Privately owned Dema Service has about 100 employees and, in addition to its Italian headquarters, has offices in Poland and the Czech Republic.
   Eden Prairie, Minn.-based C.H. Robinson said it will integrate Dema Service into its European Surface Transportation division and single global technology platform, Navisphere.
   The acquisition of Dema Services marks the second by the company in Europe since the start of this year. 
   On Feb. 28, C.H. Robinson bought The Space Cargo Group, a logistics services company with operations in Spain and Colombia, for an estimated $48 million.
