Stevens Transport announced an enhanced pay package Monday to “reward drivers for their hard work and dedication,” said President Clay Aaron.
“During the past year, our drivers have shown incredible commitment and fortitude. To show our gratitude and appreciation, we will be raising the pay for our drivers by as much as 14% in our over-the-road (OTR), dedicated, regional and team divisions,” Aaron said in a release.
The pay raise for company drivers took effect Monday. Starting pay under the new compensation plan in the OTR division could be up to 54 cents per mile, depending on level of experience.
Drivers in the dedicated division can receive up to 62 cents per mile depending on the division and experience level. Regional drivers earn up to 55 cents per mile under the new pay package, and driving teams in the expedited division can start out as high as 56 cents per mile.
The new pay package also applies to first-year drivers, said Angela Horowitz, Stevens Transport’s vice president of driver resources.
“First-year drivers will see pay increases of 14%, allowing them to earn up to $60,000 in their first year out of school,” Horowitz said.
Dallas-based Stevens Transport is one of the largest refrigerated trucking companies in North America, according to company officials. The privately held company has 1,937 trucks and 2,458 drivers, according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Cross-border truck crossings on the rise in Laredo
Adeeb Gul Raiz
Greetings of peace. Sir/mam I’m from Pakistan and I want to come and drive the beautiful trucks over there in your company. I am ready to take training and willing to relocate and no demand for a high salary. Just need sport and sponsorship from your company. I will be an excellent addition to the team of drivers. Currently, I am driving the Metro bus and I also drive garbage trucks and dumpers, and mechanical sweeper’s trucks. Kindly consider this in your great kindness. Waiting for your positive reply.

If the drivers have 3 years safe driving. This should be the standards for truck drivers pay most trucking companies in Ont are only paying 54 cents on payroll or 63 cents to a Incorporated company per mile and often do not even pay for dock time. We need more gov setting of minimum wage and treatment of truck drivers.
