$40-million auto facility opens in Tacoma
A $40 million, 144-acre automobile processing facility is opening in the port of Tacoma on Friday (Oct. 24).
The Marshall Avenue Auto Facility will be operated by Auto Warehousing Co., a Tacoma-based company that handles about 3.2 million vehicles year. Customers of Auto Warehousing Co. that ship through Tacoma include Isuzu, Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Suzuki.
In 2002, the port of Tacoma handled a record 180,173 vehicles. “The new facility paves the way for continued growth of this business,” the port said.
