7 general cargo vessels detained for safety violations in U.K
United Kingdom maritime authorities said they detained seven foreign cargo vessels in July for failing safety inspections.
The detentions amount to 5 percent of the 176 inspections conducted by the Maritime and Coast Guard Agency, on par with average enforcement levels during the past 12 months.
Vessels detained until violations were corrected were:
* The 'Phayao Navee,' a Thai-flagged vessel owned by V Ships in Asia.
* The 'Marvel K,' a St. Vincent and Grenadines-flagged vessel owned by Seatrans Consulting.
* The 'Little Star,' a Georgia-flagged vessel owned by J-S Co FRIM.
* The 'OSTGARD,' a Netherlands-flagged vessel owned by Bore Ostgaard.
* The 'NINA,' Netherlands flag, owned by Tranship Management.
* The 'LYRA,' Estonia flag, owned by OU Esman.
* The 'Julietta,' Malta flag, owned by Corner Shipping Co.
