A.P. MOLLER GROUP APPOINTS COMPETITION LAW COMPLIANCE OFFICER

A.P. Moller, the parent company of Maersk Sealand, has appointed a group compliance officer in charge of competition law, Dort Rolff.

Rolff already worked in the legal department of the Danish group. In her new position, she will conduct training seminars around the world on competition law compliance, in cooperation with local compliance executives.

“Many competition laws are new or changed and not always easily comprehensible,” said Jess Soderberg, chief executive officer and partner of A.P. Moller. “Therefore, special attention must be paid to these,” he added.

Soderberg warned that a violation of competition law “entails major fines, possibly liability for damages and harm to our name.”

“Competition authorities view the A.P Moller/Maersk group as a whole,” he said. “Compliance becomes a group concern.”
