Abu Dhabi to withdraw shareholding in Gulf Air
The government of Abu Dhabi confirmed Tuesday it is withdrawing from its shareholding in Gulf Air over the next six months.
At the same time, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman issued a joint statement to confirm their continued involvement and commitment to the airline.
Gulf Air said Abu Dhabi’s withdrawal will not effect its business strategy. “For the wide Gulf Air family — our customers, our staff and our suppliers — the key issue is how we are run; and that will be business as usual,” said James Hogan, Gulf Air president and chief executive.
