Adrion succeeds Miles as World Shipping Council chairman

   The World Shipping Council, a Washington, D.C.-based association of liner shipping companies that carry more    than 90 percent of international containerized trade, has elected Adolph Adrion, chief executive officer of Hapag-Lloyd Container Linie GmbH, as chairman of its board of directors.

   Adrion succeeds Ray Miles, CEO of CP Ships, who has been chairman since the council was established in 2000. Miles will continue as a board member.
