ADS Logistics begins operations in Shreveport port
ADS Logistics, a North American provider of logistics and supply chain services to the metals industry, said Monday is has begun operations in the newly constructed Class-1 metals facility located within the Port of Shreveport-Bossier.
The facility, built by the port with ADS’s metals warehousing expertise, is the only Class-1 storage and warehousing facility within a 200-mile radius of Shreveport, and links customers throughout the
Arkansas-Louisiana-Texas region to domestic and international markets.
The 60,000-square-foot heat and humidity controlled facility is operated by ADS’s Roll & Hold division and is served by the Union Pacific Railroad. The port’s marine, rail and truck infrastructure and equipment provide for high volume rail activity as well as all bulk modal combinations of barge, rail and truck, with 2,000 acres of property, 10 miles of on-site track, barge capacity for 25 units at a time, and truck access adjacent to the Interstates 20 and 49.
ADS said in a statement that it has provided logistics and supply chain technology services in Shreveport since 2003 and has worked with the port since early 2005.
