ADT Security Services introduces RFID tag printer, label applicator

ADT Security Services Inc., a provider of electronic commercial and residential security technology, has released a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag printer that provides a single model unit for end users with mixed-class software applications.

The new RFID unit, part of the company's Sensormatic RFID package, prints labels of various sizes and tracks both good and bad label statistics. When the printer detects an unusable RFID label, it overstrikes the label, alerting the end user to discard it.

ADT has also introduced a new RFID automatic label applicator in its Sensormatic Quadrel T Series. The unit applies up to 100 labels per minute.

'Automatic label application is essential for large-scale RFID deployments, because placing labels on cases and pallets by hand can be expensive and time-consuming,' said Randy Dunn, director of ADT's RFID division.
