AESDIRECT WORKSHOPS TO BE HELD IN TEXAS, FLORIDA
The U.S. Census Bureau’s Foreign Trade Division has scheduled workshops in Texas and Florida this month to promote the filing of shipper’s export declarations through its free Internet link to the government’s Automated Export System.
AESDirect workshops will be held at the Southwest Texas Junior College in Eagle Pass, Texas, on May 22, and at New Horizons Computer Learning Center in El Paso, Texas, on May 24. A workshop at Brevard Community College in Melbourne, Fla., is set for May 11.
These workshops include an overview of AES and AESDirect; hands-on PC training in using AESDirect; and time to ask questions and test sample shipments on the system. Upon successful completion of an online certification quiz, the exporter or freight forwarder may begin filing SEDs electronically using AESDirect.
To register on AESDirect, log onto http://www.aesdirect.gov and click onto “Registration” form. Send an e-mail to AESmeeting@census.gov, including name, telephone number, company name and address, and whether you’re an exporter or forwarder, and about how many SEDs filed a month.
