Air Canada adds more freighter capacity to China

Air Canada adds more freighter capacity to China

Air Canada has contracted with World Airways to provide and operate an additional MD-11F freighter to serve the China market. Air Canada launched air cargo service between Toronto and Shanghai last month.

World will now operate two MD-11s for Air Canada beginning in June through August 2007. On June 20, the cargo flights will begin transiting through Calgary. The amended contract is valued at $101 million.

World will operate five flights a week between Shanghai and Toronto, with intermediate service to Calgary on four of those flights.

The additional aircraft became available because of a delay in previously announced new service by Thai Air Cargo, World said.
