AIR CHINA’S DIRECT SERVICE LINKS PORTLAND AND SHANGHAI

A new all-freighter service begun by Air China between Portland, Oregon, and China uses two twice-weekly Boeing 747 flights with 200,000 pounds of cargo capacity.

Nike, the athletic shoe manufacturer, and OIA Global Logistics, a freight forwarder in Portland, have taken “a substantial percentage of cargo space on these new flights,” said Steve Akre, president and chief executive officer of OIA.

Air China’s freighter jets fly directly from Portland to Shanghai, and then on to Beijing.
