AirBridge Cargo taps into Russian flower market

AirBridge Cargo (ABC), the Russia-based cargo airline that is part of the Volga-Dnepr Group, has launched three Boeing 747 freighter flights a week from Amsterdam to Moscow to serve the market for fresh flowers in Russia.

ABC said Russia is among the largest markets in Europe for fresh flowers, and noted that 60 to 80 percent of Russia's imported flowers come from the Netherlands. To meet that demand, ABC said it is now offering flights from Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport direct to Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport, and will offer a distribution channel for Dutch flower exporters throughout Russia.

ABC was started in 2004 and offers service to nine locations sin Europe, China, and Russia.
