AIRNET SYSTEMS APPROVED BY DEFENSE DEPARTMENT

Airnet Systems Inc. said it received approval from the Air Mobility Command Unit, which allows it to transport freight and passengers for the Defense Department through the Civil Reserve Air Fleet program.

Through this agreement, the company will offer specialized and sensitive transport solutions for items needing individualized handling and exceptional security measures.

During the second half of last year, Airnet initiated their “Specialty Services” to offer special care throughout the transport process through enhanced communication and strong operating controls. AirNet said the Defense Department’s approval for AirNet’s service is a step in the company’s entry into the Special Services market. In addition, AirNet will plans to provide similar services to the private sector.

AirNet underwent a stringent DOD safety audit in the fourth quarter of 2001. The audit included an inspection of AirNet’s flights, safety and maintenance operations.

AirNet Systems spokesperson Lori Williams said that the company could offer services to the DOD immediately.
