Amber Road acquires Global Trade Academy

Global trade management software vendor purchased the training and certification academy to bolster its portfolio of services and products around import/export and risk management.

The global trade management software provider Amber Road last week said it has acquired the import/export training firm Global Trade Academy.
GTA provides a series of courses and certifications for executive- and staff-level practitioners on logistics, risk assessment and international commerce. Courses offered by the academy include: Certified Classification Specialist (CCLS), C-TPAT: Application to Validation, Duty Drawback Specialist (DBS), and Export Control Certification Specialist (EXCS).
“Global trade management is a complex and dynamic field,” said Jim Preuninger, chief executive officer of Amber Road. “Organizations require knowledgeable in-house trade professionals to understand trade regulations and implement global supply chain strategies, particularly as it relates to their specific products, processes and geographies. Our best software customers are also those who invest in talent development. By adding the Global Trade Academy to our portfolio, we can meet this need and simultaneously be a one-stop-shop for our customers.”
