AMERIJET INCREASES ALL-CARGO SERVICE TO DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Amerijet International increased its all-cargo service to the Dominican Republic by starting a twice-weekly service to the newly opened Aeropuerto Internacional del Cibao airport.

Caribetrans S.A., the Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based all-cargo airline’s handling agent in the Dominican Republic, has named Josefina Tejada the office manager in Santiago.

“We are working closely with the airport, which is privately owned and operated, to develop specific services that are important to local shippers,” said Pamela Rollins, Amerijet’s vice president of business development. “For instance, we’re offering door-to-door trucking service, customs clearance and document preparation services, which are particularly important in emerging cargo markets.”

Amerijet operates a fleet of Boeing 727-200 freighters, which offer 12 positions with capacity for 60,000 pounds of cargo.
