APL, MOL to join Hyundai’s transpacific loop
APL and MOL will later this month join a previously standalone weekly transpacific service of fellow New World Alliance partner Hyundai Merchant Marine.
The Pacific China Express (PCX) uses six ships of about 4,300 TEUs and has a port rotation of: Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Los Angeles, Oakland, Busan and back to Ningbo.
“The PCX service will also call at Los Angeles’ Global Gateway South, where it will provide a seamless link to on-dock rail to enhance the speed and efficiency of getting our customers products into inland ports and other key North American markets,” said George Goldman, APL’s vice president and managing director, North China.
