APL REVIEWS ATALANTIC SLOT-EXCHANGE AGREEMENT WITH MAERSK

APL is reviewing the structure of its transatlantic service, following the announcement by its slot-exchange partner Maersk Sealand that it is cutting the capacity of its TA3 transatlantic service.

APL, Hyundai Merchant Marine and MOL, who form the New World Alliance, have a slot-exchange agreement with Maersk Sealand in the transatlantic.

“Following Maersk’s announcement regarding capacity reduction we are reviewing our options with our partners,” said Eric Mensing, vice president, transatlantic trade at APL. The carrier indicated that it intends to continue to serve its transatlantic customers.
