APL ship still grounded
APL said Monday the 4,038-TEU vessel “APL Panama” remains grounded near the approach of the Mexican port of Ensenada.
The ship ran aground Dec. 25.
The Singaporean carrier said that efforts to refloat the ship over the past weekend were unsuccessful and there was a small spill of heavy fuel oil that environmental contractors have cleaned up.
APL said it still doesn’t know when cargo will be available for pickup. It advised customers with further queries to contact their local APL customer services representative: http://www.apl.com/contact.
