APM Terminals awarded Lagos concession
A.P. Moller-Maersk affiliate APM Terminals has been awarded the concession to manage and operate Apapa container terminal in Lagos, Nigeria.
The agreement was concluded between APM Terminals, Nigeria’s Bureau of Public Enterprises and Federal Ministry of Transport, as well as the Nigerian Port Authority.
APM Terminals said it will make substantial investments in both infrastructure refurbishments and equipment, including new generation ship-to-shore gantry cranes.
Earlier this week, the Bollor' group and Zim’s Asia-Africa specialist subsidiary Gold Star Lines, were awarded a 15-year operating concession for Lagos’ smaller Tin Can Island container terminal.
