ASIA/EUROPE CARRIERS RAISE BUNKER CHARGES AGAIN
Shipping lines of the Far Eastern Freight Conference have notified shippers of a plan to increase bunker adjustment factors again in the Asia/Europe container trade on March 1.
The latest substantial increase will raise the bunker charge from $70 per TEU in February to $97 per TEU in March. It follows the recent adjustment of the amount of the charge from $56 to $70 per TEU, effective Feb. 1.
The conference reviews its bunker surcharge once a month.
