Astar executive Rossum becomes CFO
Astar Air Cargo said Steve Rossum, executive vice president, general counsel and head of transactions will also serve as the airline's chief financial officer.
The Miami-based airline is the descendant of DHL Airways, which was sold in July to a small group of investors led by John Dasburg, chairman and chief executive officer. Astar, like DHL Airways before it, gets 90 percent of its business from one customer — overnight delivery company DHL Worldwide Express.
Rossum, who has worked for U.S. Airways and World Airways among others, helped negotiate the wet lease by which Astar owns, flies, maintains and provides insurance the planes that DHL contracts on a dedicated basis to move its packages.
