Atlas Air earns profit
Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings Inc., parent company of Atlas Air Cargo and Polar Air Cargo, said it made a profit of $74 million on revenue of $1.6 billion during the 2005 calendar year.
The Purchase, N.Y.-based company said operating income was $193.3 million, including a $7.8 million insurance claim.
The charter firm said has improved the health of the company since coming out of bankruptcy in 2004 by increasing aircraft utilization and achieving higher unit revenues.
