AUSTRALIAN AUTHORITIES RAISE IMPORT INSPECTION FEE

The Australian Quarantine Inspection Services will increase its inspection fee on imported cargoes to $14.50 ($7.70) per container, from A$8, on July 5.

In a notice to inform its customers of the change, Far Eastern Shipping Co., a carrier in the U.S./Australia trade, said that the surcharge is normally a collect charge.
